Annual Crawfish Cook-Off
The Hospice Foundation of the South’s signature event! This event is a huge part of our budget supporting the Hospice House. Every April the HFOS hosts the Crawfish Cook-Off. The largest one day event on the Northshore boasts Over 45,000 pounds of crawfish. Crawfish are boiled by 60 teams competing for the title of “Best Crawfish in St. Tammany Parish”. Celebrity judges as well as the teams themselves decide the winners. 3 Locally well-known bands entertain the crowds of 8000 plus people every year. The admission includes all the crawfish you can eat and the concert event.
Many people support the cook-off as a way of giving back to the hospice programs who have helped take care of one of their family members.
After the Hospice House opened a family came to the house to have their mother cared for by us. After talking to them, 2 of the 6 children worked for businesses that have sponsored the cook-off years prior to the mom getting ill. Never did think they would be benefitting from the house.
Sponsor levels are available beginning at $500 up to $15,000. Higher levels include TV and radio opportunities. Northshore Whitney banks are our ticket outlets.
